When: Saturday, November 10, 1:00 PM
Museum Admission: USD17.00 per person
Where: Click the link below to find out!
Event Description: Hey Art Kids,
LACMA (Los Angeles Contemporary Museum of Art) presents Salvador Dali: Painting and Film. This looks like another great LACMA exhibit which I would like for us to explore.
So here's the info:
I'm suggesting that we meet at 1 pm near the ticket booth/Welcome Center in front of the Hammer Building. As you're facing the ticket booth, to your right is a group of tables. We'll meet there. We'll probably hang out there no later than 1:30. This gives us time to meet one another, collect money for tickets, and gives a buffer for those running late. But please be there closer to 1 pm.
Where is the Ticket Booth/Welcome Center? Check out their map for some visual placement: Museum Map.
The group rate for 10 or more people is $16. I'm adding an extra buck - $1 - to help with Meetup costs (they do charge me monthly to have our group active). So please bring $17.00 in exact cash because they request that I buy all the tickets at once. The non-group rate is $20.00 so I'm hoping to get more than 10 people there. So bring yourself, your kids, or your invisible friend and let's view some art! Once we finish with the exhibit, we're free to check out the rest of the museum with the same ticket.
**************
Throughout his life and career, renowned surrealist Salvador Dalí maintained a deep connection with film as an artistic medium. He collaborated with movie greats such as Luis Buñuel, Alfred Hitchcock, and Walt Disney, and created works influenced by Cecil B. De Mille and the Marx Brothers. Dalí: Painting & Film, coming to Los Angeles, the epicenter of film, aims to illustrate the cinematic influences and elements that are present in Dalí's work as well as the contribution he made to cinema. The exhibition brings together a variety of key pieces from Dalí's oeuvre, incorporating painting, film, photography, sculpture, and texts.
More info on the exhibit could be found at LACMA's site.
Hope to see you there!
