I was in downtown today to do a little scouting. There is street parking around city hall you may or may not have to put money in the meter. Be sure to check your meter so you don't get a ticket. There are several lots around city hall that do charge. The north one just in front of city hall charges $5.00. South of city hall near the Geffen contemporary it is $7.50, so stay north. You should not have a problem. If you are taking the metro here is a link to their map. Metro From the metro exit hill and head south 2 blocks and make a left on spring. You can't miss city hall.
Half way through are hike on 7th and spring there is a coffee shop. That would be a nice middle point if people want to stop.
